The 10th Annual HBCU Football and Recruitment Tour Presented by the HBCU Campaign Fund officially kicks off this weekend with back-to-back stops at two HBCU football classics.

The milestone tour begins Saturday, August 29, at the John Merritt Classic in Nashville, featuring Tennessee State University and Jackson State University. On Sunday, August 30, the tour continues at the Red Tails Classic in Montgomery, Alabama, where Tuskegee University will face the University of West Alabama.
For a decade, HCF has used HBCU football as a platform to celebrate the culture, tradition and excellence of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) while connecting students and families with college recruitment and educational opportunities.
“Ten years of this tour is more than a milestone — it is a testament to the power of HBCU football and the importance of telling the story of our institutions. We are excited to once again bring football, recruitment and opportunity together as we begin another season of the Annual HBCU Football and Recruitment Tour.”
— Demetrius Johnson, Jr., Founder, President & CEO
The 2026 tour will visit several of the nation’s premier HBCU football classics throughout the season, continuing HCF’s mission to advocating for HBCUs, connecting students to opportunity and celebrating Black college excellence.
