The future of higher education is changing, and HBCUs have a tremendous opportunity to lead that change.

As a proud alumnus of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB), I was especially encouraged to hear Chancellor Dr. Anthony Graham discuss the important role HBCUs can play in artificial intelligence, data analytics, and workforce development on the episode of The EDU Ledger’s In The Margin.
UAPB’s investment in AI is an example of what happens when an HBCU embraces innovation while remaining committed to preparing students for the future.
AI is not simply about technology. It is about equipping students to solve problems, create opportunities and compete in a rapidly changing economy.
HBCUs have produced innovators, leaders, and problem-solvers. Now, we must ensure our institutions are positioned to lead in one of the most transformative areas of the future.
We should not be asking whether HBCUs can participate in AI revolution. We should be asking what the AI revolution will look like with HBCUs leading it.
As a UAPB alumnus, I am proud to see my alma mater helping show us the way. Check out Chancellor Graham’s interview here.
