HCF Supports the Reintroduction of the IGNITE HBCU Excellence Act

The Institutional Grants for New Infrastructure, Technology, and Education (IGNITE) HBCU Excellence Act recognizes historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) by providing support that will strengthen their institutional capacity and further advance their transformative impact on the future of higher education.

Rep. Adams and Rep. Hill reintroduced the bipartisan bill on Thursday, May 14, at the House Triangle on the grounds of the U.S. Capitol. They were joined by bipartisan congressional leaders, HBCU presidents and chancellors, the 1890 Universities Foundation President and CEO Felecia Nave, and other national advocates.
