Denmark Technical College has announced the appointment of Eric Brown, Ph.D. as its next president and chief executive officer. A dynamic, result-driven leader with more than two decades of experience in higher education administration and student support services, Brown brings a proven record of advancing student success and institutional excellence. The HBCU Campaign Fund (HCF) celebrates President Brown’s appointment.

Area Commission Chairman Kevin Whitt praised Brown’s appointment.

Throughout his career, Brown has held key leadership roles, including associate vice president for students affairs at the South Carolina Technical College System and vice president of student affairs at Williamsburg Technical College. His leadership has generated hundreds of new student leads and expanded access to education statewide.
In addition to his administrative leadership, Brown has served as an adjunct faculty member and co-authored scholarly work. His involvement on community boards reflects his commitment to service and accessibility in higher education.
Brown’s expertise spans strategic planning, enrollment management, multimillion-dollar budget oversight, policy development and stakeholder engagement. He has served as a SACSCOC evaluator, contributed to statewide accreditation efforts and earned multiple honors, including the SCTEA Administrator of the Year Award.

Brown holds a Ph.D. from Walden University, a master’s degree in human resources development from Webster University and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Clemson University.
