DENMARK, S.C. – Voorhees University will receive a generous commitment of $450,000 over three years from the Molly Munger and Steve English Charitable Fund. The unrestricted funding, given at $150,000 annually, will support general operations and strengthen the university’s capacity to serve and advance its mission, the University announced.
The gift follows a recent campus visit by attorneys Molly Munger and Steve English, who were deeply moved by the university’s rich history, dynamic leadership, and the resilience and excellence embodied by its students. Their experience—highlighted by a powerful screening of a documentary on founder Elizabeth Evelyn Wright, a comprehensive tour, and meaningful conversations with student leaders-inspired them to make a long-term investment in the institution.
“We left Voorhees with a deep appreciation for the inspiring work being done to nurture and uplift students through love, support, and high exceptions.”
– said Molly Munger, co-founder of the charitable fund
