HCF Announces its 8th Annual HBCU Football and Recruitment Tour Dates and Events

The HBCU Campaign Fund (HCF), a minority educational organization announces the eighth leg of its Annual HBCU Football and Recruitment Tour. An initiative that supports historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and football classics that feature HBCU football teams, organization representatives are excited to hit the road this fall. The Division of College Relations and Scholarships will join the tour on specific dates to assist high school students with choosing an HBCU to attend.

“We appreciate the opportunity and are very excited for another year to support HBCUs and Black college football, joining them at the classics that highlight the teams that are very important to us. Football is in the air, and we look forward to seeing our HBCU family soon,” said Demetrius Johnson Jr., HCF’s Founder, President & CEO. “I want to thank those who have partnered with us to make the annual tour happen. We are very proud of this outreach initiative and look forward to it being such an enjoyable time of the year.”

This year’s tour is planned to begin in Nashville, Tennessee, on August 31st at the John A. Merritt Classic and precede the Southern Heritage Classic, Circle City Classic, Gulf Coast Challenge, Magic City Classic, Soul Bowl Classic, Bayou Classic, and end with at the 2024 SWAC Football Championship game.

The Division of College Relations and Scholarships will join the tour on specific dates at college fair events. The division was established at HCF to partner with HBCUs and Minority-Serving Institutions to assist in recruiting to such institutions and providing scholarships to prospective students. Representatives are tasked with mentoring and encouraging students to choose the best institution that fits their educational needs. The division also created its signature “College Bound Guide Folders,” which provides students with beneficial information to help transition into college.
