When making the decision, you would have to consider and declare — What field would I like to study as well as in pursuing a career? Am I capable at a larger or small populated school? Do I have scholarships lined up or will I have to depend on financial aid? Also, would I like to study in-state or out-of-state?
At this point as you receive acceptance letters, you should start scheduling your tours (only this step, if you have not already visited and declared your chosen institution). At college campus tours is when you begin to inspect the artifacts in the choice of a College. The tour will leave you thinking if the campus provides the best academic and social environment for you for the duration of your collegiate career.
However, the visits should also note which school provide the better quality opportunities for your goal set field of study. Then from the college tours, you seek more research and include your input in ranking the colleges in a list from lowest to highest in tuition, location, campus, your desired field department graduation rate, as well as your feelings about the school’s academic and social environment atmosphere based on your visit.
Pay attention to how the college tour was well organized. Did the recruiters show you everything you need to know and see in making them the right collegiate fit for you? When you are on a visit to campus, make sure you see the following:
- The Student Union.
- Dormitory.
- Dining Services.
- Where your desired field of study building is housed.
- Other buildings that may house your classes as freshmen as well as when you reach into your major.
If you can greet the dean or a representative of your major field, take advantage of the opportunity and ask as many questions that you may have a concern about involving your choice of study.

If you have money to cover all or some of your tuition at an institution who have accepted you, then that might drive your eye towards accepting their offer to attend.
