2025 Giving Tuesday Campaign
About us
Founded in 2012, the HBCU Campaign Fund (HCF) is the brainchild of founder Demetrius Johnson, Jr. HCF serves as one of the nation’s minority educational nonprofit organizations that advocates and supports HBCUs and MSIs. The organization works to provide financial support for scholarships and programs, support institutions, and empower students and communities through fundraising, advocacy, and various initiatives like the Annual HBCU Football and Recruitment Tour Program.

“Each year, nonprofit organizations around the world take part in this global day of giving and HCF is proud to be among them. Supporting HBCUs and MSIs is a vital mission that requires collective efforts. Our supporters play a crucial role in helping us strengthen our commitment to higher education. Your contribution can help reach our $5,000 goal to expand opportunities and provide essential resources for our programs.”
— Demetrius Johnson, Jr., Founder, President & CEO, HCF
Today, your continued support is more vital than ever — your generosity empowers the mission of supporting and strengthening students and HBCUs.
Just this year, because of your support, HCF advanced critical work to strengthen HBCUs—expanding resources, advocating for students, and ensuring our institutions continue to thrive and serve their communities.
This year’s GivingTuesday highlighted four scholarship funds and initiative programs that donors can choose to support, each offering a meaningful way to make a lasting impact. These initiatives directly benefit students and the institutions we serve. The featured scholarship funds and programs are:
• The Brenda G. Johnson Memorial Scholarship Fund
• HCF General Scholarship Fund
• The Annual HBCU Football and Recruitment Tour Program
• HBCU Leadership/Campus Ambassador Programs
