HCF Celebrates MacKenzie Scott’s Transformative Gifts Strengthening HBCUs Nationwide

Philanthropist MacKenzie Scott makes a second wave of donations to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) providing nearly $1B invested. In 2020, she provided more than $500 millions to HBCUs. Alabama State University ($38 million), Alcorn State University ($42 million), Clark Atlanta University ($53 million), Howard University ($80 million), Morgan State University ($63 million), Spelman College ($53 million) and Virginia State University ($50 million). The HBCU Campaign Fund (HCF) gratefully acknowledges MacKenzie Scott for her ongoing investment in our nation’s HBCU’s — advancing the future, fostering innovation, and championing the mission of accessible higher education for all students.

We also acknowledges Ms. Scott’s recent contributions to the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) and the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF), which will further strengthen and expand the support provided to the institutions they serve.
