PINE BLUFF, AR – The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) Office of Recruitment to host its annual Lion Fever Day on Friday, April 3, 2020, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Lion Fever Day is designed to allow high school seniors and juniors an opportunity to see various parts of UAPB’s campus and experience speaking with college advisors personally in an effort to gain details about his or her desired area of major. Activities will include a college fair, campus tour, a chance to hear the university marching band and view performances from select Greek organizations.

Interest students or school groups that would like to participate must RVSP. There is a fee, it is $15 per person and $10 per person in groups of 10 or more.

CHICAGO, IL – Each year, HCF is more eagerly excited to hit the road in support of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and athletics as well as participate in efforts of encouraging those to choose to attend an HBCU. Our HBCU Football and Recruitment Tour, which began back in 2016 continues to float with very limited funding and resources. However, due to the efforts as an advocacy non-profit, we at HCF thrive in making it happen with or without funding.

We are thrilled to add back to our schedule the Southern Heritage Classic College Fair and Game as well as the Chicago Football Classic. We are forever grateful of our partnership with the Chicago Football Classic as it strengthens each year. The tour is joint with our Division of Recruitment, which representatives will participate in various college fairs on the road. We are also excited to announce that the recruitment team is awaiting to confirm a few more fairs that it will part take in, assisting students and providing resources such as their College-Board Guide Folders.

The 2019 HBCU Football and Recruitment Tour schedule is as follow:

  • Sat., Sept. 28 – Circle City Classic Football Game / Indianapolis, IN
  • Sat., Oct. 5 – UAPB Homecoming Game

CHICAGO, IL – The HBCU Campaign Fund (HCF) has announced that this fall, representatives will be hitting the work for its 3rd Annual HBCU Football Tour in support of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) football teams and its Division of Recruitment will join in on certain days to assist recruiting for HBCU’s.

Last year’s tour featured a visit to Lincoln University – Missouri, Chicago Football Classic, Central State University, and the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff during football season. The Division of Recruitment joint in on the Chicago Football Classic by participating in its college fair providing students with important information about attending college and what does the HBCU experience looks like once you step foot on campus.

“This initiative that HCF takes part in implementing is what we try to achieve within our mission and supporting the significance. We also thrive to go out and about of our office as well as the Chicago area to make sure that individuals can experience our organization and know that outreach is a key factor in the quest of campaigning for our nation jewels, our historically black colleges,” said Demetrius Johnson, Jr., President and CEO at HBCU Campaign Fund.

“We look forward to meeting students to encourage them to choose HBCU, which is our motto at HCF. We also hope to inspire, and meet our HBCU community as well as our supporters who follow our social media handles,” he continued. “This tour is meant to bring empowerment to our HBCU’s, and to make sure that the names of these institutions are known to the unknown.”

HBCU Campaign Fund extends its mission and hands to assisting future college-bound students in choosing HBCU by adding its essential Division of Recruitment, which is geared towards those who visit HCF’s website as well as social media outlets to explore further the school(s), preferably HBCUs of his or her choice.

HCF’s Division of Recruitment offers its HBCU Admissions/Recruitment Directory which is open to all HBCUs to become a part of, and is housed in Division of Recruitment’s section of HCF website. The directory will include HBCU institution’s Office of Admissions or Recruitment contact information so that potential students could seek more interest with accessible links. The offices may also host ads and recruitment videos if chosen to do so to list in the directory. The HBCU Admissions/Recruitment Directory is just another avenue of advertisement for HBCUs and no unapproved material will be posted on HCF website.

The Division of Recruitment will also handle informing students about scholarship information, recruitment events, and college fairs. The information will be pushed out by the Division of Recruitment through its social media handles (Twitter/Instagram): @hcfdivofrecruit and newsletters as well. If you like to receive scholarship, recruitment and college fair information, you may subscribe to HCF mailing list here.

If HBCU institutions are interested in accepting HCF’s invitation to be listed in its Division of Recruitment HBCU Admissions/Recruitment Directory, the correct contact person may submit a form on-line here or send an e-mail to recruitment@hbcucampaignfund.org and HCF recruitment staff will gladly assist you in adding your HBCU institution on its site directory.
