“I Love My HBCU” Alumni Campaign
March is National I Love My HBCU Month
Throughout March we celebrate National “I Love My HBCU” Month. The Division of Alumni Relations at the HBCU Campaign Fund announces its fundraising “I Love My HBCU” Alumni campaign on Monday, March 29, 2021, and ending June 29, 2021. Sampled by the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU), I Love My HBCU Month was created to encourage alumni and friends of historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) to give to their Universities as a way of demonstrating their affinity. HCF initiated its campaign in March 2018, which identifies alumni ambassadors who can speak upon their HBCU experiences, why they love their HBCU and encouraging others to donate to their HBCU or HCF during the campaign months.
Alumni who participate in this campaign will have their stories highlighted on HCF’s website and social media platforms, speaking on their HBCU experience, why they love their HBCU and encouraging others to donate. When posting on social media, the official hashtag is #HCFILoveMyHBCU. [Please note: before participants stories are highlighted, participants must submit a substantial donation receipt in pdf or jpg format as proof identifying that they’ve donated to their HBCU, HBCU of their choice, or HCF dated between March 29, 2021, and June 29, 2021. Emailed receipts are accepted.] Monies receive in this campaign will go to their HBCU Foundations or the HBCU Campaign Fund unrestricted/scholarship fund. The unrestricted fund at the HBCU Campaign Fund allows flexibility to make an immediate impact on the organization needs in its advocacy efforts and aid for HBCU and Predominately Black institutions. The scholarship fund allows the organization to grant high school seniors and current undergraduate students at HBCUs necessary funds to support financial needs for their educational expenses. HCF hopes that alumni will enroll in recurring gift programs at their HBCUs.
We are please to recognize all alumni ambassador stories through our online platforms and gifts over $50 or more will receive an exclusive gift from HCF while supplies last. Digital donation receipts and stories can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
For further questions or concerns, please contact HCF via email at email@example.com or by phone at (773) 988-2106.
[If you are giving a donation to the HBCU Campaign Fund, please include your alumni story in the “comment” box inside of the donation form.]

“We are so excited to announce another year of our annual “I Love My HBCU” Alumni Campaign. The goal is set to reach $15,000 donated to HBCUs and $10,000 alone to HCF in the duration of the three-months to financially assist students and our institutions during these unprecedented times. Again, we are asking for all HBCU alumni to join us in making a minimum gift of the founding year of their HBCU alma mater, or another HBCU which will commemorate the year that the institution was established. If we can get that momentum of donating that amount going, that will assist in surpassing the minimum set goal we’ve and keep student-success going. HCF will also share the stories of those alum who’ve given on our social media and communication handles in token of appreciation of their contributions while also encouraging others to participate.”
